Happy Thanksgiving - From Our Home to Yours
Though the life of prematurity is filled with trauma, stress, anxiety, and tears, I am grateful for all that it has given me, as well.
Of course, I am thankful for my family. We are some of the lucky ones that made it home. I have had the opportunity to teach and grow, given the knowledge that I, likely, otherwise wouldn’t have had the chance to learn.
I’ve begun to appreciate the “little” things, the things that really aren’t so little, and are actually what is truly important.
I have grown from a quiet person, willing to tolerate and accept any answer, to a fierce advocate.
I am grateful for the community that this experience has brought with me, full of strong individuals with powerful voices and bravery beyond belief.
Lastly, I am thankful for the person that I’ve become and for those that have accepted and learned to love the new “me,” too.
Happy Thanksgiving, friends, from our home to yours.
